Directions for The Beacon House, Whitstable
By car:
For Whitstable, you take the M2 (or M20, A249, M2) from London. The M2 divides into the A2 and A299. You want the latter, the A299, which you take for 7 miles when you will see the Whitstable turn off.
Drive through Whitstable (under the railway-bridge, along the high street, past the oyster house restaurant). Once past the fish harbour, go straight across the traffic lights and take the next turning left, Beach Walk, where The Continental Hotel is located.
Park there unless you need to bring your car along the sea road to the house. If you do need to drive to the house, collect the key to the sea road gate from the house. It is 200yds a so along the sea road. After it, there are just beach huts until Herne Bay...
There are parking spaces for 2 cars at the house – 1 in the drive and 1 below the house. In the latter space, the car needs to be well tucked in to allow emergency vehicles, life guards, etc. to pass

By train:
From London Victoria to Whitstable, every half an hour. The journey time is 1 hr 20 mins. The house is a 15-minute walk or 5-minute taxi ride from station.
